GREAT FISH RIVER FROM THE AIR

The fixed-wing aircraft will then descend to low level, soaring just above the coast, passing over Port Alfred and continuing on to the mouth of the Great Fish River. Here guests will stand a chance at spotting a southern right or humpback whale (seasonal), as well as pods of dolphins.

At the Fish River mouth, the aircraft will head inland over the rugged Great Fish River Valley and the Ciskei region. Enjoy a bird’s eye view of the farms belonging to the descendants of the 1820’s settlers. The final leg of the journey will pass over forts constructed by the Colonial Army during the 1830s before returning to the Kwandwe airstrip.

This scenic flight offers fantastic insight into the area’s rich Frontier history.
